Another Booking!!

Just when I thought I would have to pick up a serving job, I booked another national commercial! I can't give any more details than that but I'm so excited and it's going to be lots of fun to shoot. Will tell you all about it when it airs. It's a big one. :)

Last year, I booked 2 other nationals for Nike and American Express. The Amex is still running but I haven't seen the Nike, although I've earned a lot more in residuals for that than the Amex due to it's global use.

I haven't had a booking since October and I've been getting antsy and impatient so this is coming at a great time for me. Things have been so incredibly slow and I'm driving myself nuts. Hopefully this will help me relax a bit. (Yeah, right!)

How are things going for you guys? Are you all having a busy pilot season or is it dead right now? How are your commercial auditions going? Let me know!

  4. Congrats! I thought it was just me, but yes its been soooo slow for me as far as commercial auditions. I had one a couple weeks ago and that was my 1st one of the new year ( yikes) ..I thought for sure I would get a callback because I felt that I did great.. even the session runner said I did a good job and made his job easier by following instructions. I get really frustrated sometimes, but I try not to let it get to me. I do my best and forget the rest..lol That's why I like reading your blog posts. Reading news like this is motivating to me! Sorry this is so long.

    1. Yeah, it sucks when you feel like you killed an audition and then never hear back. There are 50-11 reasons why you didn't get a callback, but that doesn't make it less frustrating!! I hope things pick up for you!

  5. hooray! what an exciting place to be in your career. it'll be an interesting mindset when i'm not looking at a serving job as the inevitable but as the fallback.

    1. It is an interesting mindset, but don't make the same mistake I did in thinking that the money would roll in forever. You WILL have slower periods and you must make sure to have a nice little stash to help you out during those times. Or just keep your serving job and use the big commercial checks to pay debt and just save the rest!

  7. Commercial auditions are starting to pick up for me after a long pregnancy-induced hiatus. Now that I've had the baby and I'm feeling back to normal I'm getting back out there. Congrats on your bookings! I'm certainly hoping I'll book a national this year - even better if it's one that my baby books too! :-)
